Free keyboard mouse emulator
NeatMouse is a small tool for Windows that allows controlling your mouse cursor via keyboard.
If in Word, if I click my left mouse button once, it selects all the text. I cannot then un-select it. Even if in Windows Explorer, if I left click a drive icon once, it selects all the text in the drive name box. Again, I can’t un-select it. The only way out is to close the window or that app. The actions for left/right mouse click depend on the program but generally: Left click – the normal or standard action. Left Click to select. Right click – additional or special options that apply to the selection. Right-click often makes a menu appear with choices that apply to the current selection or program. Press the Windows Key + S, begin typing in mouseand click on Mouse settings. You can also go to Start Settings Devices Mouse. At the top, you should see Select your primary mouse button. Right-click on the dropdown box and right-click on Left to restore the left mouse button.
This is very useful when your physical mouse is unavailable:
- If you haven’t installed its driver yet, and Windows was unable to do this automatically.
- If you use wireless mouse and its battery is low so you need to charge it.
- If you are a person with reduced mobility.
NeatMouse also comes in handy when you need high precision in mouse pointer moving. It allows setting pointer moves accuracy up to one pixel.
Key features of NeatMouse:
- NeatMouse can be activated by one of the following keys:

buttons for alternate speed modifiers. When this button is pressed, mouse pointer moves with alternate speed. - Select one of the

for no-emulation mode. When this button is pressed and you press a keyboard button bound to the mouse action, this button performs its primary task as if there is no mouse emulation. - Specify regular and alternate mouse speed.
- Bind keys for moving mouse left, right, up, down, and diagonally.
- Bind keys for left mouse button click, right mouse button click, middle mouse button click.
- Bind keys for scrolling up and down.
- Manage custom user settings: if you use portable version of NeatMouse, you can create different settings for your laptop and workstation.
By default, the mouse control keys for NeatMouse located on the keyboard numpad. The default key bindings are shown below, and each of them can be altered.
NeatMouse has English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Russian and Ukrainian translations. Both regular and portable versions are available. It is small, convenient, efficient and completely free!
With Mouse Keys, you can use the numeric keypad on your keyboard—instead of the mouse—to move the pointer.
To turn on Mouse Keys
- Open Ease of Access Center by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Ease of Access Center.
- Click Make the mouse easier to use.
- Under Control the mouse with the keyboard, select the Turn on Mouse Keys check box.

After you turn on Mouse Keys, you can use the numeric keypad to move the mouse.

Selecting a mouse button
Windows Mouse Keys Left Click
Before you use Mouse Keys to click items on your screen, you must first select which mouse button you want to be the active button: the left button, the right one, or both.

Note: If you choose to make the left mouse button the active button, it will remain the active button until you choose another button. After you select a mouse button, you don't need to select a mouse button again until you want to change buttons.
Clicking items using Mouse Keys
After you choose a button, you can click items on your screen.

Dragging items using Mouse Keys
Keyboard Left Click Not Working
You can use the numeric keypad to press and hold the active mouse button and to release it. This is helpful if you want to drag an item.

Notes:
- You can use the numeric keypad to press and hold the active mouse button and to release it. This is helpful if you want to drag an item.
- To change options like how quickly the mouse pointer moves and whether your computer makes a sound when you turn on Mouse Keys, in the Ease of Access Center, under Control the mouse with the keyboard, click Set up Mouse Keys.
